The primate’s appeal was contained in his opening address to the Standing Committee of the Church of Nigeria at St. Peter’s Cathedral Church in Minna, Niger State Capital.
Speaking on the 2019 elections, the cleric urged INEC to be fair adding that the ‘Not too Young to Run Bill’ was not going to solve Nigeria’s problems
“Whatever disenfranchises any Nigerian should not come from INEC and should be avoided.
“Not too Young to Run Bill’ which was heralded with so much zeal was not going to solve Nigeria’s problems automatically as the brand of politics had over the years not been by ideas and ideals, but driven by personality and money.
He further called on the church to preserve the nation from moral corruption and work against all forms of vices.
“If the injustice, corruption, oppression, marginalisation, lies, selfishness, greed, and dishonesty found in the society were allowed within the church and practised and promoted by Christians, the church would be living below expectation,” Okoh added.
