It was gathered that some shops within the area were allegedly looted and destroyed as residents scampered for their dear lives. Two vehicles were also destroyed.
The cultists allegedly stabbed the Hausa traders on their hands and left them in a pool of blood, a situation other Hausa traders mobilized immediately to avenge.
But the police Commissioner in the state, Mustafa Muhammad, who confirmed that there was a fight between some Hausa traders and suspected cultists to journalists in Asaba, disclosed that six persons have been arrested.
He said, “Investigation is on going, and we have arrested six persons in connection with the fight which occurred at about 9.30pm. The police have restored peace in the area as two of the suspected cultists were feared killed in the process. We want to assure that those involved in the act will be brought to book.”
